The Under Armour Best of the Best Camp 2022

The Under Armour Best of the Best Camp 2022 was hosted in Atlanta, Georgia, now widely considered, the mecca of high school and grassroots basketball the weekend of August 13 – 14, 2022. The venue was Atlanta’s Maynard H. Jackson High. Talented 7th-9th grade basketball players from various parts of the United States participated in the two-day camp. Besides those players that call Atlanta home, players traveled from cities across the nation including Milwaukee, WI., Knoxville, TN., Nashville, TN., Kentucky, Tampa, FL., and Washington, DC.

An outstanding day 1 of the camp, was led by Kee-the-Trainer (Kierre Jordan) and a host of former college players; Robert Carter Jr.(University of Maryland), Andre Malone(Auburn University), Temarcus Blanton(University South Carolina), Noel Johnson(Clemson University), Zackery Reynolds(Northern Arizona University), Doc Martin(University of Alabama), Derrick Stroud, Nick Watson, Adrian (AJ) Hicks.

The day also included a special guest speaker Mr. Corey Fisher of Overtime Elite Basketball, former USA coach. He gave a great presentation of knowledge to the players and parents.

The culmination of the camp began with a Temarcus Blanton elite session of warm-ups and stretching. Kee-the-Trainer (Kierre Jordan) turned up the heat for the next 2 hours of the camp with a series of basketball drills ranging from fundamentals to sophisticated drills. As the day progressed, the team scrimmages began; suffice it to say they were very competitive games. Zackery Reynold’s team led by Newton County Freshman point guard Kevin (KJ) White, shooting sniper Evan Kramer, and Tony Bryant both from Tampa, Florida were the favorites.

The field of talent was outstanding, just to name a few of the talented players: Jordan Evans (21), DeAaron Watkins (92), Condis Cherry (94), Jason Hill (121), Yaw Botchey (119), Jaiden Pugh (93), Zayden Hayes (101), Justin Jones (25), Kevin (KJ) White (114), Tony Bryant (105), Evan Kramer (95), Jamari Rousseau (111), Braylin Davis (91), and Cayden Jackson (134).

As the day concluded Camp Founder, Winfred Jordan, was extremely pleased with the players' competitiveness and wrapped up day 1 of the camp with this quote, “the guys played hard, competed hard, and had fun; that’s the making of good basketball”.
